Ingredient distributor Acme-Hardesty announced the partnership this week. And it’s only the latest step on Botaneco’s journey in the cosmetics and personal care industry.

Headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Botaneco launched just three years ago is becoming known in the beauty industry as a natural ingredient maker. The company’s partnership with Acme-Hardesty should expand the business regionally in the US.

Business alliance

“Acme-Hardesty will be Botaneco’s channel partner for the personal care market on the East Coast, Southeast and Midwest,” according to a letter of intent signed by Jacob Stern and Sons, a materials distribution and processing company of which Acme-Hardesty is a division.

“Botaneco offers bio-based ingredients with a low carbon footprint that will be an exciting addition to our personal care portfolio,” Graeme Biggin, director of business development for Acme-Hardesty, says in a media release about the new deal. “These innovative, natural products will bring significant value to our personal care customers.”

Sustainable growth

The Botaneco business has been growing in many ways recently. At the IFSCC event late last year, the ingredient maker launched CapSol, an encapsulation and UV filtering technology made from olesomes.

And just this month, the company opened its first lab in the US. “Our team at the New Jersey Sustainability Center of Excellence offers high-performing prototypes made possible by a single, multifunctional, sustainable technology, such as oleosomes,” James Szarko, president and CEO of Botaneco, tells the press.

Now, the company’s new distribution deal with Acme-Hardesty promises to bolster business even further.

“We view our partnership with Acme-Hardesty as another example of our commitment to success,” Kathy Mish, marketing manager for Botaneco, explains. “Acme-Hardesty is a perfect fit for Botaneco because they have built their business on sustainability. We know Acme-Hardesty’s reputation in the industry and when you pair that with our technology, we add value, trust and performance to the personal care market.”
