Packaging artwork conference to illustrate how cosmetics and personal care brands can win with visual content

PACk 2017 is set to take place in New York City this month and is shaping up to be a must-attend event for beauty and personal care industry pros looking to stay up-to-date on design trends, packaging workflow, tech solutions, and regulatory issues.

The event on Tuesday, May 16, will be the first annual conference hosted by Diadeis, an agency specializing in brand identity. The full-day event has been designed as “an intimate and interactive event, a one-day track devoted to understanding and sharing strategies and insights with a focus on improving the packaging value chain,” according to a company press release.

In the spirit of innovation and productive technology transfer, speakers and attendees will represent a full spectrum of consumer goods industries including food and beverage, consumer health and pharma, and home care, as well as cosmetics and personal care.

Flow of ideas

Some 15+ experts will speak over the course of the day on topics like “How to implement a packaging workflow tool globally,” which will be addressed by both John Morrow, worldwide director of global artwork operations at Colgate-Palmolive and Jean-Charles Morisseau, chairman of the Diadeis Group.

To help brands translate shelf appeal into digital channels, Steve Kensey, senior manager of ecommerce strategy at GSK Consumer Healthcare and Jami Gormley, who has a similar ecommerce management role at Campbell Soup, will present insights on “Ecommerce : how to leverage packaging artwork to create e-commerce content.”

Other speakers on the PACk 2017 program include Mikaela Mendizabal, creative services manager at Kind Snacks; Laura DiSciullo, senior VP of marketing and product management at the standards organization known as GS1 US; and Beth Coniglio, team lead of US artwork and labeling at GSK Consumer Healthcare.

And the outline of topics to be covered at the event lists a number of themes: innovation trends, resource management, process tech, compliance and regulatory updates, and packaging artwork process simplification.
