Cosmetic Executive Women president Carlotta Jacobson calls the seven mid-career women who received the award this year, “the future of our industry.” The 2017 winners come from L’Oréal Paris, Sephora, Tom Ford Beauty, Rodan + Fields, and more.

Earlier this month, CEW held the annual awards event at The Union League Club in New York City. The Top Talent Award recognizes “the achievement of innovative, exceptional women at all stages of their careers [and] is at the core of CEW,” Carlotta Jacobson, president of CEW, explains in a press release.

“When I met each of the women we are honoring,” adds Jacobson, “it was clear to me why they had been selected – they are a group of exceptional talent that are the future of our industry.”

Beauty industry leaders and the CEW board of directors nominates prospective Top Talent Award recipients based on the work they have done to better the world of beauty and on their industry leadership prospects.

The 2017 honorees come from all sectors and categories. Some work on the retail side, others in marketing or communications, sales, and product development. They work in fragrance, skin care, hair care, bath and body, among other categories. As CEW rightly puts it, “the honorees represent a broad cross-section of the industry.”

Roster

The 2017 CEW Top Talent Awards went to Kristen Comings of L’Oréal Paris; Cindy Deily of Sephora; Lauren Elias of Tom Ford Beauty; Dana Paris of the J&J company Vogue International; Staci Pigna of Clarins Groupe USA; Dalia Stoddard of Rodan + Fields; and Megan Streeter of DevaCurl.

Kristen Comings is the VP of integrated consumer communications at L’Oréal Paris, a team she formed and has grown to be the largest integrated marketing group at  L’Oréal USA. “As steward of one of the world’s most iconic brands, Kristen is the arbiter of integration between owned, earned and paid content,” according to the CEW press release on the event. “Her leadership has shifted how L’Oréal Paris markets, ensuring digital is at the core of all programs and campaigns.”

Cindy Deily is the senior director of skincare merchandising at Sephora, a company she has worked with for over 10 years. “Since joining Sephora in 2006, Deily has helped advance Sephora’s skincare brand portfolio by nurturing brands from infancy to become top performers for North America. Examples include Drunk Elephant, Ole Henriksen, Sunday Riley and Tatcha,” notes the CEW release.

Lauren Elias is the executive director of North America marketing for Tom Ford Beauty. In the role she’s developed the brand’s go-to-market strategy and made a big difference in digital. For instance, “Lauren’s team is on the leading edge, employing interactive retail experiences, including Virtual make-up technology, and has been effective at implementing 360 launch programs that incorporate social, influencers and early seeding,” as the CEW release explains.

Dana Paris is the senior director of global marketing for Vogue International at Johnson & Johnson. J&J acquired Vogue International just last summer, securing the personal care and pharma company’s position in the hair care market, as Cosmetics Design reported. In fact, Paris “was a key member of the management team that led the process of the sale of Vogue International to Johnson & Johnson in 2016 for $3.3 Billion.” She leads up the company’s global marketing vision and strategy and is credited with launching OGX Beauty’s first marketing campaign.

Staci Pigna is vice president of sales for the Southeast division of Clarins Groupe USA. Known for her work as a strategic planner it stands to reason that “in the past seven years, as part of the Clarins Team she worked to help create sales strategies and establish strong partnerships with retail leadership.” And the CEW release goes on to note that “Staci works closely with all departments to elevate the brand image and meet consumer’s needs.”

Dalia Stoddard is vice president of product development at Rodan + Fields. She came to the brand in 2009 and helped make it the number one skin care brand in the US last year and the fastest growing skin care brand over the past 5+ years, according to Euromonitor data shared in the CEW release.  “As Vice President of Product Development, Dalia is responsible for overseeing all Global Product Development and Innovation, Quality Assurance, Global Regulatory, Packaging, and Product Engineering.”

Megan Streeter is the chief marketing officer at DevaCurl, overseeing a team of pros from marketing, product development, creative, digital, public relations, and social media. CEW highlights that “in just a little over two years, she has been a driving force behind DevaCurl’s double-digit growth with its entire relaunch of the brand and new-to-market innovation.”
