Susan L. Jurevics is the new president of Bare Escentuals Beauty

One week from Monday, Jurevics will take on her new role, according to an announcement from Shiseido Americas, which owns the Bare Escentuals brand. And if her executive track record is any indication, the color cosmetics and skin care brand will set a course for growth that’s all about digital.

“Within our portfolio, bareMinerals is an important brand with a successful history. Susan’s bold digital expertise and strong storytelling ability, together with the great team in place, will further propel this iconic brand to its next level of growth,” Marc Rey, president and CEO of Shiseido Americas, says in the company press release announcing Susan L. Jurevics as the new president of Bare Escentuals Beauty.

Rey, whom Jurevics will report to as brand president, goes on to explain that, “Susan is an exceptional leader with an impressive track record working with some of the world’s most successful brands. She has deep management experience and a keen understanding of marketing and brand-building, and I believe she will bring fresh and unique insights to bareMinerals as our brands navigate the rapidly changing digital landscape and explore new methods of driving consumer engagement.”

Digital strategy

As president, Jurevics will create and execute the brand’s vision and growth strategy as well as oversee the full team behind Bare Escentuls’ bareMinerals collection.

Jurevics comes to Shiseido after over three years as CEO and board member of Pottermore, the ecommerce and digital publishing company of J.K. Rowling (the writer best known for the Harry Potter books). There, “she evolved the brand by changing the product offering and business model to develop a sustainable direct consumer business, working closely with J.K. Rowling, Pottermore’s Board and Warner Bros. to deliver results and co-manage the franchise,” explains the Shiseido press release.

Before that, Jurevics worked for some 12 years with Sony in roles including senior vice president of global retail CRM and brand marketing, and vice president of corporate marketing.
