This year’s range, according to the fragrance and flavour company, includes ‘cutting-edge’ natural mint tonalities, developed with the Group’s Joint Venture partner, Essex Laboratories.
It comes as part of its Sharing Innovation program, launched in 2011 to open up its pallettes to customers directly and share selected Firmenich signature ingredients.
“We aim to share our innovations by releasing some of our most beautiful captive ingredients to the industry,” the company explains.
Seven signature scents in 2017
This year, Firmenich’s Sharing Innovation Collection is made up of seven ingredients. As well as three various core mint scents, the collection features four ‘iconic’ synthetic ingredients.
“Each year our goal is to inspire the industry with our best-in-class ingredients by opening up our palette to our customers,” says Julien Firmenich, VP Sales, Ingredients, Firmenich.
“I am very proud that our 2017 collection highlights our new mint tonalities developed with our JV partner Essex Laboratories, as well as a selection of some of our most successful iconic molecules.”
An example of the offering from the mint selection is Firmenich’s mint essence piperita.
According to the company, this is: “a pure and delightful piperita profile, this mint is crafted from proprietary and unique ingredients. This essence is designed around a core of non-traditional natural mints laced with hay and subtle floral accents. This cost-effective treasure will inspire unique formulations.”
From the synthetic collection, one example tapping into popular fragrance trends is the Wardia BM ingredient.
Firmenich describes it as “exceptionally rich and powdery, this rose specialty is also intoxicatingly heady. Its balanced composition and unique signature delivers elegance in every perfumery application.
