Naturally Australian Products launches new range of oils
The six new oils in the range include Australian Blue Cypress, Boronia, Eucalyptus, Kunzea, Rosalina and Sandalwood, which will all be made available globally by the end of the year, and will be particularly targeted in the U.S. market. These indigenous plants are grown in unique environments, where the soil and weather help to impart unique properties to the plants, which as they are being discovered in the wider world, is now making them popular.
Unique ingredient profiles
Company founder Robyn Ingersole explains why many of the unique and indigenous natural ingredients found in the country are so interesting to cosmetic and personal care companies right now.
“Australia is seen as a clean green country. The oils are unique because the arid harsh environment has created plants with high levels of unique compounds,” Ingersole said.
“Today we are only just beginning to learn about and understand the rich and diverse history of native botanical knowledge that was passed down from generation to generation to generation of Aboriginal people for thousands of years. Indeed, the unique properties and benefits of many Australian Native Plants are still relatively unknown.”
Eucalyptus, Sandalwood and Blue Cypress are the hot tips
Ingersole believes that of the new oils in the range, Eucalyptus and Blue Cypress are likely to prove the most popular within the cosmetics industry, because of their properties and current demand levels.
“Sandalwood will prove popular because itis wildly used and in short supply, mainly because the timber is fetching a higher dollar value than the oil and the fact that Indian sandalwood is in very short supply,” Ingersole said.
“Eucalyptusbecause of the high demand and wide spread use of this oil and the fact it is cheaper the many other oils, while Australian Blue Cyprus should be popular because it is unique to Australia and another oil in very short supply.”
